UF linebackers Jarrad Davis, Neiron Ball out for season
Sophomore linebacker and special teams ace Jarrad Davis tore his meniscus on the opening kickoff in Florida’s 23-20 overtime loss to South Carolina, undergoing season-ending surgery Monday morning.
Davis finished the year with 23 tackles.
Senior linebacker Neiron Ball also injured his knee in the defeat, undergoing microfracture repair surgery.
“Neiron’s going to be non-weight bearing for six weeks and probably out for four months,” Florida coach Will Muschamp said.
“Extremely disappointed for both those guys. Both having great years, and certainly hope to get those guys rehabbed as quickly as possible.”
Ball is third on the team in tackles (49), adding two sacks, five quarterback hurries and a forced fumble.
