Kiyaunta Goodwin left Florida’s football team after receiving family hardship news

Florida Gators offensive lineman Kiyaunta Goodwin has left the team, due to a medical hardship with his family, according to multiple reports.

Goodwin’s mother was diagnosed with cancer, which has led the sophomore to leave the program to focus on care for her, 247 Sports reported.

Prior to spring practices, Goodwin transferred from Kentucky to UF, the outlet reported. His mother lives in Louisville, Kentucky and he applied to a NCAA family hardship waiver, 247 Sports reported.

That allows Goodwin “to transfer closer to home and continue his football career,” the outlet reported.
