Florida Gators opponent LSU also has problems at QB
Florida’s quarterback situation is in flux with Monday’s suspension of Treon Harris, but the Gators’ opponent this weekend faces its own quandary.
The LSU Tigers, off their worst loss in 15 seasons, have yet to name a starter in advance of Saturday’s showdown.
Freshman Brandon Harris made his first career start at No. 2 Auburn, completing just three passes for 58 yards in a 41-7 shellacking.
Sophomore starter-turned-backup Anthony Jennings didn’t fare much better in relief, finishing 5 of 10 for 84 yards.
Tigers coach Les Miles has rotated Harris and Jennings all season, and wants to wait until later in the week before announcing a starter against the Gators.
“We’ll let them both compete at practice, and make a decision later,” Miles told The Associated Press. “Both can play better than they did last week.”
▪ Following conflicting reports Monday, UF announced coach Will Muschamp will meet with reporters Wednesday morning.
