Netflix releases spine-tingling trailer for the new Aaron Hernandez docuseries

It’s a question that nearly every football fan has asked.

“How did Aaron Hernandez go from playing professional football to dead in a prison cell while serving time for murder?”

While finding a single answer is no small feat, a new documentary intends to provide as many as possible.

Netflix released the first full trailer for the new three-part documentary series “Killer Inside: The Mind of Aaron Hernandez” Tuesday that will surely give you chills. Set to drop Jan. 15, the docuseries features exclusive interviews, courtroom footage and Hernandez’s phone calls from prison that help piece together the story of his tragic fall from grace.

Hernandez, a former tight end for the New England Patriots and Florida Gators, became a household name after his 2013 arrest for the murder of Odin Lloyd. Despite assuring the Patriots front office of his innocence, the then-25-year-old was convicted of first-degree murder in 2015.

Just days after being acquitted of a double-murder in 2017, Hernandez was found dead in his prison cell from an apparent suicide. He was 27.

The series will detail all the factors that led to these events but also how Hernandez’s actions affected those around him.
