FIU’s 2015 football schedule resembles the 2014 schedule only in that each involves 12 games, eight of which are against Conference USA schools.

There’s only five home games instead of eight. Instead of opening with four home nonconference games, FIU has four of its first five games on the road.

All four nonconference opponents change, and there’s only one FCS opponent (North Carolina Central) as opposed to two in 2014.

Among the conference opponents, half — Louisiana Tech, Charlotte, UTEP, Western Kentucky — weren’t among FIU’s opponents last year.

FIU’s schedule

Sept. 5: at Central Florida; Sept. 12: at Indiana; Sept. 19: North Carolina Central; Sept. 26: at Louisiana Tech; Oct. 3: at UMass; Oct. 10: UTEP; Oct. 17: at Middle Tennessee State; Oct. 24: Old Dominion; Oct. 31: at FAU; Nov. 7: Charlotte; Nov. 14: at Marshall; Nov. 21: Western Kentucky
