Saturday’s FIU opponent, Charlotte, is 0-5 in Conference USA, has one win against an FBS opponent and gave up 70 points to Middle Tennessee State. Still, Charlotte coach Brad Lambert said he was proud of his team, which is the third edition of a program revived in 2013.
“No question and that’s what I told them after Saturday’s game,” Lambert said at his weekly media session. “’It would be different if I would turn the film on each week and you weren’t playing hard.’ Our guys are working hard, I mean extremely hard and I think it’s a testament to the kind of guys they are. …
“We have to find a way, though to eliminate the big play, the little mistake that really affects the game. At the same time, we have to find a way to generate some plays to get us in the red zone and then put points on the board.”
