Ex-FIU Panthers faring well

Here’s an update on five players who left or were jettisoned from the FIU program after the 2014 season:

▪ Quarterback E.J. Hilliard has completed 121 of 191 passes for 1,323 yards, 14 TDs and four interceptions for 6-2 Division II program Valdosta State.

▪ Leading Division II Florida Tech in receiving and drawing a little NFL scout attention is WR T.J. Lowder, who has 601 yards and five TDs on 44 receptions in nine games. Graduate transfer Richard Burrows has five catches for 74 yards and a TD for Florida Tech.

▪ FCS program Murray State is where you’ll find Dominique Rhymes and his 10 catches for 141 yards.

▪ DeAndre Jasper transferred to West Florida, where he’ll spend a year redshirting before the program starts play in 2016.
