FIU senior tight end Ya’Keem Griner hobbled about on crutches with a walking rehabilitation boot over his right foot at Tuesday’s practice. FIU coach Ron Turner called Griner “day-to-day.”

Elsewhere on the crutches report, junior linebacker Treyvon Williams appeared to be without his for the first time since being injured against Louisiana Tech. Freshman defensive end Fermin Silva, injured against UTEP two games ago, remained with his walking helpers.

▪ A strange interlude in the normal hip-hop soundtrack blasting from FIU Stadium during Tuesday’s practice warmups — Bob Dylan’s 1965 hit Like a Rolling Stone.

Somebody must have let the coaches near the practice playlist.
