Colimon, Smith earn honors
Junior linebacker Davison Colimon returned his first career interception for a 79-yard touchdown in Saturday’s 38-28 win against Middle Tennessee State, had two sacks and six total tackles, five of which were solo.
His effort earned him Conference USA’s Defensive Player of the Week honor Monday. Colimon got honorable mention for the College Football Performance Awards Linebacker of the Week.
The CFPA named sophomore Jonnu Smith its Tight End Performer of the Week after Smith’s eight receptions for 140 yards and three touchdowns.
