FIU Panthers hope to reverse Louisiana setbacks

Saturday will mark FIU’s second game against Louisiana Tech and first trip to Ruston, Louisiana, but the 10th in the state of Louisiana.

The Panthers have gone 3-6 in their previous games there, all nine against former Sun Belt Conference rivals Louisiana-Monroe and Louisiana-Lafayette (which prefers to be called just “Louisiana”).

TIME SET FOR UMASS

FIU’s Oct. 3 game at UMass, long left TBA on kickoff time, will start at 3 p.m. and be available via streaming on ESPN3.

PUNTING IMPROVES

Last year’s punting exasperated the FIU coaches. This year, freshman Stone Wilson and redshirt junior Chris Ayers have combined for a 40.78 net punting average, best in Conference USA and 28th in the nation.
