Senior starting outside linebacker Davison Colimon will miss the rest of the season after sustaining a torn pectoral muscle Thursday against Central Florida. He will get a medical redshirt this year.

“He’s a playmaker on special teams, he’s a playmaker on defense,” coach Ron Turner said.

Over the last year, Turner’s often lauded Colimon’s rise from nearly off the team in 2013 to team leader by the end of 2014, when he started nine games. Redshirt sophomore Jordan Guest, who started six games last season, likely will start in Colimon’s spot Saturday against Indiana.

Cornerback Jeremiah McKinnon practiced fully Tuesday. He left Thursday’s game with a hamstring problem.

Along the offensive line, redshirt freshman Kai Absheer’s unspecified injury has healed well enough that he’ll start going through team drills Wednesday and should be ready for Saturday. How much Absheer, who had moved to the top of the depth chart at right tackle before being injured, is unclear after redshirt freshman Daquane Wilkie acquitted himself well against UCF.
