Redshirt junior Michael Montero, a Columbus High graduate, might be moving from center to left guard after starting left guard Jordan Budwig’s season-ending shoulder injury. An even bigger move for Montero — from walk-on to scholarship player this year.

Junior Austin Taylor received the same financial promotion. Last year, Taylor made 29 of 30 extra points and 15 of 21 field goals with a long of 43 yards.

Montero got into 12 games as a backup last year.
