FIU’s backup quarterback race is on
Among the quarterbacks vying for the backup role behind sophomore Alex McGough is fifth-year senior transfer Trey Anderson. Anderson played in eight games at Pitt over four seasons (he redshirted in 2013), completing 25 of 53 passes for 263 yards, one touchdown and three interceptions. One of his 2014 cameos came against FIU, when he completed both passes he threw for 12 yards in Pitt’s 42-25 win.
Anderson likely starts camp behind McGough, redshirt freshman Bud Martin and early enrollee freshman Christian Alexander.
