Junior backup running back Anthon Samuel wore an orange injury jersey Tuesday after suffering a rib injury late in Saturday’s loss to Texas-San Antonio. FIU coach Ron Turner said Samuel could have played if there were a game Tuesday.

Team’s mood

Fifth-year senior safety Justin Halley described the team’s mood after Saturday’s loss on a last-minute field goal.

“Obviously, we really wanted that one,” Halley said. “We know we can still decide our own destiny within the conference. This (Saturday against Marshall) would be a huge win. We know we still have the rest of the conference season. We can’t hang our heads after one loss in the conference.”
