UM punter Vogel voted to All-ACC preseason football team
University of Miami punter Justin Vogel was the lone player voted to the All-Atlantic Coast Conference preseason football team unveiled Wednesday.
The team was selected by 191 media members credentialed for last week’s ACC Football Kickoff in Charlotte.
Vogel, a 6-4, 210-pound senior, ended the 2015 season ranked seventh in the ACC with a 42.5-yard-per-punt average.
“He’s one of the best punters I’ve ever seen,’’ UM coach Mark Richt said of Vogel at the ACC Kickoff. “The guy is super talented.’’
Florida State had five All-ACC honorees: wide receiver Travis Rudolph, offensive tackle Roderick Johnson, running back Dalvin Cook, defensive end DeMarcus Walker and safety Derwin James.
Clemson led all ACC schools with 10 selections, including 2015 ACC Player of the Year Deshaun Watson, the Tigers’ quarterback.
