Hurricanes defensive end Anthony Chickillo was not at practice Tuesday for the second day in a row, and safety Deon Bush wore a red, no-contact jersey.
Both players, considered “day-to-day’’ by coach Al Golden, were injured on the same play in the second half of the Hurricanes’ loss to Florida State on Saturday.
Chickillo has an unspecified knee injury and Bush has a hamstring injury.
“Nothing has changed with those two,’’ Golden said. “It’s just a function of what we’ve got to get done during the time we have with them. For Deon it’s about being out there and getting the calls. His injury is different than Chick’s. Chick’s is requiring double time in terms of rehabilitation and being inside.

“It’s just really more the nature of the position. One is in command of the defense and it’s got to be audible and he’s got to hear every coaching point, and the other has got to just get ready to play. We’ll know more [Wednesday]. We’re getting to that point in the week where we’ve got to know whether they’re in or out.’’
