UM junior Stacy Coley named ACC Receiver of the Week
Hurricanes junior wide receiver Stacy Coley was named Atlantic Coast Conference Receiver of the Week on Monday following Miami’s 29-24 loss to the Seminoles.
Coley, out of Northeast High School, had a career-high seven receptions and 139 yards — the first time he has surpassed 100 yards receiving. His 38-yard touchdown, a beauty in the left corner of the end zone, gave the Hurricanes a 24-23 fourth-quarter lead over FSU.
That lead lasted less than four minutes, however, as Miami native Dalvin Cook’s 23-yard run sealed the victory for the Seminoles. Cook also earned an ACC Player of the Week honor with his 222 rushing yards and three touchdowns Saturday.
▪ Quarterback Brad Kaaya, who had a career-high 405-yards passing (and three touchdowns) at FSU, is among the 32 players on the 2015 midseason watch list for the College Football Performance Awards National Performer of the Year Trophy. The list includes three other ACC player: Clemson quarterback Deshaun Watson, Duke quarterback Thomas Sirk and tailback Cook.
