The No. 18 Miami Hurricanes handled business on Saturday with a convincing 38-10 win over the Syracuse Orange at Hard Rock Stadium.

Here are seven notable stats from the game.

One passing touchdown, one rushing touchdown, one receiving touchdown: It seems like Malachi Toney is doing something spectacular every week.

He joined a rare group on Saturday when he turned a reverse into a double pass into a 14-yard touchdown throw to quarterback Carson Beck.

On the season, Toney now has one passing touchdown, three receiving touchdowns and one rushing touchdown. He is just the third Hurricanes position player since 1995 to have at least one passing touchdown, one rushing touchdown and one receiving touchdown in a season. The others: Duke Johnson in 2012 (one passing touchdown, 10 rushing touchdowns, one receiving touchdown) and Graig Cooper in 2008 (one passing touchdown, four rushing touchdowns, one receiving touchdown).

10,000: With his 61-yard touchdown pass to Keelan Marion in the third quarter, quarterback Carson Beck surpassed 10,000 passing yards for his college career. He is one of two active quarterbacks to hit that mark all at the Football Bowl Subdivision level, with Fresno State’s E.J. Warner the other.

Rushing touchdown by an offensive lineman: Francis Mauigoa’s 3-yard rushing touchdown in the fourth quarter was the first touchdown by a Miami offensive lineman since Sunny Odogwu on Oct. 31, 2015.

134: Four Hurricanes true freshmen accounted for 134 yards from scrimmage on Saturday.

Girard Pringle Jr. led Miami with 55 rushing yards and a touchdown as UM went with a by-committee approach in the absence of starter Mark Fletcher Jr. Daylyn Upshaw had a 41-yard catch. Josh Moore had a 12-yard catch. And Toney had 26 rushing and receiving yards in addition to his 14-yard touchdown pass.

7: The Hurricanes’ defense had a season-high seven sacks against Syracuse. It was Miami’s most sacks in a game since having nine against Florida State on Nov. 2, 2019. The school record is 11, set on Nov. 20, 1982, against N.C. State and matched on Nov. 18, 1989, against San Diego State. Akheem Mesidor led the way with one-and-a-half sacks. Jakobe Thomas (one), Keionte Scott (one), Rueben Bain Jr. (one), Dylan Day (one), Jadais Richard (one-half), Armondo Blount (one-half) and Bobby Pruitt (one-half) all contributed to the sack total.

11: Miami had a season-high 11 tackles for loss. Mesidor had a team-best three-and-a-half. Justin Scott also had two.

3: The Hurricanes forced three turnovers — two interceptions and a fumble recovery — to match their season high initially set in Miami’s 28-22 win at Florida State.
