The University of Miami men’s basketball team will be in the national spotlight for a pair of ESPN “Big Monday” games on Jan. 25 against Duke and Feb. 22 against Virginia. Both games will tip off at 7 p.m. at BankUnited Center.

Miami is one of six Atlantic Coast Conference schools to be featured two or more times and the only school to play host to both of its Big Monday games.

The Hurricanes also have a high-profile home game Dec. 8 against the University of Florida on ESPN2.

UM opens the 2015-16 season with an exhibition game against Dowling on Nov. 4, and its nonconference schedule includes home games against Northeastern and Princeton, and road games at LaSalle and Nebraska.

The Canes will also play three games in the Puerto Rico Tip-Off.

In addition to Duke and Virginia, UM will host ACC rivals FSU, Louisville, Notre Dame, Pitt, Syracuse, Virginia Tech and Wake Forest.

The Canes are ranked in a few preseason polls — No. 23 in USA Today and No. 21 in CBSSports.com.

The Hurricanes return almost every player from last season’s 25-13 team, including Sheldon McClellan, Angel Rodriguez, Tonye Jekiri, Davon Reed, Ivan Cruz Uceda, Omar Sherman, JaQuan Newton and James Palmer.
