Hurricanes learn start time, TV plans for second and third football games this season

The Miami Hurricanes this year will play an eight-game home football schedule for the first time since 1971, and the kickoff time is now known for four of those games.

ESPN announced on Thursday that UM’s second home game, on Sept. 6 against Bethune-Cookman, will be played at 7 p.m. and be streamed on ESPN-plus and ACC Network Extra. (There will be no traditional network cablecast or broadcast.)

UM’s third home game, on Sept. 13 against USF, will kick off at 4:30 p.m. and air on the CW Network, which has an affiliation with WSFL 39 in Miami-Fort Lauderdale.

ESPN also announced that UM’s Friday night, Oct. 17 home game against Louisville will kick off at 7 p.m. and be televised on ESPN or ESPN2.

ABC/ESPN did not announce the start time for UM’s Sept. 20 home game against the Gators or say which of its networks would be televising it.

ABC previously disclosed that it will televise UM’s opener against Notre Dame at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 31, at Hard Rock Stadium.
