University of Miami sophomore Brad Kaaya was named to his third major preseason watch list on Thursday, this time being included on the Manning Award list that encompasses 30 of the top quarterbacks in the nation about to begin the 2015 season.

Earlier this month, Kaaya was named to watch lists for the Maxwell Award that goes to the best overall college football player and for the Davey O’Brien National Quarterback Award.

Kaaya was the only true freshman quarterback in the country last season to throw for more than 3,000 yards, 26 or more touchdowns and 12 or fewer interceptions.

Earlier Thursday, the Atlantic Coast Conference released its preseason All-ACC Team, voted on by the media at last weekend’s ACC Football Kickofff — but Kaaya nor any Miami Hurricanes, for that matter, were included on the team. Kaaya finished fourth in that voting.

The Manning Award is the only quarterback award that includes the candidates’ bowl performances in its balloting.
