Score a recruiting victory for Mario Cristobal and the Miami Hurricanes over the Ohio State Buckeyes.

Five-star Chicago St. Ignatius defensive tackle Justin Scott, a 6-4, 310-pound senior in the recruiting class of 2024, has flipped his commitment from Ohio State to the University of Miami.

Scott is listed as the third best defensive tackle in the nation, per the 247Sports Composite, and 12th best player, regardless of position.

On3.com rates him as the nation’s 10th best player, regardless of position, and the No. 2 defensive lineman.

Scott originally committed to OSU on July 2, but had also visited Miami June 10th. The other schools initially in the running were Michigan, Alabama and Georgia.

He was recruited by UM defensive line coaches Joe Salave’a and Jason Taylor.

“My biggest attraction to Miami was the coaches,’’ Scott told On3.com, “how genuine they are, how they always treated me and they make me feel like part of their family.”

As a junior, Scott also played left guard on the offensive line.

UM’s 2024 recruiting class, with 27 commitment, will now move up to No. 5 in the national rankings, per 247Sports.
