Former Clemson University receiver Frank Ladson will soon become a former University of Miami receiver as well.

Ladson, who starred at South Dade High before he was signed at Clemson, is entering the transfer portal, according to recruiting sites On3.com and 247Sports.

This will be his second time in the transfer portal.

The NCAA transfer portal officially opens Monday for a 30-day window.

Ladson, 6-4 and 205 pounds, is in his fifth season. He transferred to UM before the 2022 season because he said he “missed home.’’ But Ladson, who only played in five games with no starts this season, didn’t record a catch. Last year he played in all 12 games and had 27 catches for 298 yards and one touchdown.

Ladson, who competed in the College Football Playoff twice with the Tigers, had a Clemson career that was marred by consecutive seasons of sports hernia injuries which he said necessitated two surgeries — one on each side.

In 2021, Ladson started four games in Clemson, tallying four catches for 19 yards before his second surgery. In 2020, he caught 18 passes for 281 yards and three touchdowns in 10 games, despite multiple injuries.

Ladson was an All-American at South Dade and rated the No. 23 player in USA Today’s “Chosen 25” national high school rankings. The 247Sports composite ranking had him as the nation’s No. 7 wideout and 39th best player, regardless of position. He earned his degree from Clemson in three years.
