Fans of the Miami Dolphins and Miami Hurricanes are about to have a fabulous football Friday.

Well, fabulous if both Miami teams win.

For the first time, the Dolphins (7-3) and Hurricanes (6-5, 2-5 Atlantic Coast Conference) are both playing on Black Friday — the Hurricanes at Boston College (6-5, 3-4) at noon on ABC and the Dolphins at New York Jets (4-6) at 3 p.m. on Amazon Prime Video and CBS 4 in South Florida.

The University of Miami has played on Black Friday before. And the Dolphins have played four times on Fridays (none the day after Thanksgiving), including their first two games in history in 1966 — losses to Oakland and the New York Jets.

The Dolphins also lost to Kansas City on Friday, Oct. 21, 2005, and defeated the Jets on Friday, Dec. 16, 1983.

Of note: UM’s Nov. 23, 1984 Friday-after-Thanksgiving game is known as the “Hail Flutie” game in which Doug Flutie, who went on to win the Heisman Trophy that season, threw a 48-yard touchdown to Gerard Phelan as time expired to give BC the 47-45 victory in Miami.

More TV information: Matt Barrie and Dan Mullen are calling the Miami-BC game; and Kirk Herbstreit and Al Michaels are calling the Dolphins game for Amazon, with reporter Kaylee Hartung.

The end of the Hurricanes game will likely overlap with the start of the Dolphins game, so get your devices ready for both. And if you’re not tired of turkey by then, the leftovers will be waiting.
