The only thing better than one Ohio State flip is two.

The Miami Hurricanes learned that Monday night, when four-star Fort Lauderdale St. Thomas Aquinas running back Jordan Lyle flipped his commitment from the Buckeyes to the Hurricanes.

Lyle’s flip, which comes less than 48 hours before Wednesday’s opening of the three-day early signing period, is less than three weeks after five-star Chicago St. Ignatius defensive tackle Justin Scott flipped from the Buckeyes to Miami.

Lyle, 6-0 and 180 pounds, was also coveted by Alabama, Georgia, Florida State and Oregon. He is UM’s third committed running back in the 2024 class.

For the second straight year, Miami has stolen a blue-chip running back away from Ohio State late in the fall, with Lyle now following in the footsteps of running back Mark Fletcher Jr. Like Fletcher, Lyle was extremely productive for a Broward County powerhouse and piled up 1,376 rushing yards and 21 touchdowns on 130 carries for St. Thomas Aquinas this year to help the Raiders win a fifth straight state title. A four-time state champion, Lyle also caught 13 passes for 177 yards and another touchdown as the centerpiece of St. Thomas Aquinas’ offense.

Lyle is rated the No. 145 overall player and nation’s No. 11 running back, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings. On3.com has him as the nation’s No. 2 running back.

Miami now has four 2024 commits from St. Thomas Aquinas, and is working its way up toward a top-5 national class ranking come signing day.
