A linebacker just committed to the Miami Hurricanes, and he thanked his mother first
The University of Miami got its 10th commitment in the recruiting Class of 2024 on Saturday night from Cameron Pruitt, and he thanked his mother first on Twitter.
Pruitt, a 6-3, 187-pound linebacker/safety out of Theodore High School in Alabama, posted on Twitter at 9 p.m., “Thanks to my mama and the people who supported me through my journey but I’m committing to the U!’’
Pruitt is listed as a four-star safety by 247Sports’ own rating, but a three-star in the 247Sports composite rating — the composite’s 48th-rated safety. On3.com and its industry ranking rates him as a three-star linebacker — 39th best in the country
Pruitt has both positions listed on his Twitter profile.
According to 247Sports, last season Pruitt had 99 tackles, including 15 for losses, with two sacks, three forced fumbles and an interception. He chose UM over several offers, including Ole Miss, Arkansas and LSU.
The other linebacker committed to the Class of ‘24 include three-star Vincent Shavers of Miami Central. The committed safeties are Isaiah Thomas of Clearwater Academy and Dylan Day of Southern Lab in Baton Rouge.
