Three Miami Hurricanes honored by ACC
Three Canes were recognized Monday by the Atlantic Coast Conference for their outstanding performances against Cincinnati on Saturday.
Senior receiver Phillip Dorsett, junior rush end/linebacker Tyriq McCord and freshman quarterback Brad Kaaya earned Player of the Week honors.
Dorsett (Receiver of the Week) surpassed 100 receiving yards for the second time this season after catching three passes of 143 yards and two touchdowns.
McCord (Co-Linebacker of the Week) had two tackles, one sack, one tackle-for-loss, one pass breakup and returned his first career interception 46 yards for a touchdown.
Kaaya (Rookie of the Week) surpassed 200 yards passing for the fifth consecutive game. He threw for 286 yards and three touchdowns, with no interceptions. He also scored his first career rushing touchdown.
▪ Tight end Clive Walford on Monday was named to the John Mackey Award midseason watch list.
