The Miami Herald has confirmed that another Miami Hurricanes wide receiver is injured and will be out indefinitely.

Canes County of the Rivals.com network first reported Monday through a source that Miami sophomore wide receiver Jacolby George, who played in his first game this past Saturday after a two-game suspension, sustained a thumb injury against Texas A&M and will be “out for several weeks.’’

Inside the U of 247Sports confirmed that George is out with an injury, saying it was a “broken hand.’’ The Athletic reported it was a “broken thumb.’’ A Herald source said it was a hand injury.

UM did not immediately respond to a request by the Miami Herald regarding George’s status. Miami sports information sent out a release saying there will be “no in-practice access” during Tuesday’s practice.

The Hurricanes had six or seven dropped passes against Texas A&M, coaches said Monday, and are trying to improve an already vulnerable position group.

George, a 6-0, 176-pound sophomore out of Plantation High, is the second UM receiver out with an injury. Leading Hurricanes receiver Xavier Restrepo did not play against Texas A&M and is out for a “minimum of six weeks,’’ UM coach Mario Cristobal said Saturday after No. 25 Miami’s loss to the Aggies.

George had three catches for 41 yards on Saturday. Last season, he caught seven passes for 183 yards and a touchdown in nine games.

The Hurricanes (2-1) meet Middle Tennessee (2-1) at 3:30 p.m. Saturday (ACC Network) at Hard Rock Stadium.
