Miami Hurricanes QB Brad Kaaya reveals highlight, lowlight of season’s first half

What has Miami Hurricanes freshman quarterback Brad Kaaya taken away from the first half of the season?

“I’d say just handling the flow of each game – handling the fourth and the third quarters, the rhythm of the game – because you don’t get to experience that in practice,” said Kaaya, who is rated 36th nationally in passer efficiency (148.61).

“In summer camp you don’t experience the crowd or what it’s like in the third quarter, when everyone’s tired, just certain things you don’t experience in practice that you do in the game.”

What was the highlight for Kaaya?

“That’s a tough one,” he said. “I guess playing at Nebraska. That was pretty fun, pretty exciting. I always imagined it to be that loud and crazy. My dad always told me it was gong to be nuts. So I knew what to expect.”

The lowlight?

“I’d say last week [at Georgia Tech],” Kaaya said. “I wish I had that back – the whole game. There’s a lot we left out on the field.”

▪ UM has ruled out receiver Rashawn Scott (shoulder), kicker Matt Goudis (back) and offensive linemen Taylor Gadbois (knee) and Kc McDermott (knee) for Saturday’s game against Cincinnati.
