Elite 11-finalist Emory Williams commits to Miami. Could 4-star QB Jaden Rashada be next?

The Miami Hurricanes have found their quarterback for the Class of 2023.

At least, they’ve found one of them.

Emory Williams, a three-star quarterback from Milton, orally committed to Miami on Monday, announcing his decision on Twitter after spending the weekend in Coral Gables on an official visit.

Now, the Hurricanes hope it’ll be the start of a good week of quarterback recruiting, as four-star quarterback Jaden Rashada is set to make his college choice on Sunday after he heads to Miami for an official visit later this week.

Either way, Williams gives the Hurricanes a great starting point at the position. The 6-foot-5, 190-pound prospect is the No. 44 quarterback in the 247Sports.com composite rankings for the Class of 2023 after putting together a breakthrough season last year as a first-time starter.

As a junior, Williams went 161 of 254 for 2,168 yards, 16 touchdowns and three interceptions. He also ran for 64 yards and four touchdowns.

Williams’ performance helped land him an invitation to the Elite 11. He boasts about a dozen scholarship offers, although Miami was the only school to host him for an official visit so far.

Williams’ commitment keeps up the recruiting momentum the Hurricanes have established in the last few weeks. He’s the third high school player to commit to Miami in the last week, joining three-star tight ends Jackson Carver and Reid Mikeska, and the fourth commitment of any kind.

Carver committed Tuesday, and the Hurricanes landed oral commitments Sunday from Mikeska and unranked wide receiver Colbie Young, who’s transferring from a junior college to be part of Miami’s Class of 2022.

The Hurricanes will host more than a dozen recruits for official visits this week, most of whom will get to be on campus for Legends Camp on Saturday. The group will be headlined by Rashada, as well as five-star athlete Nyckoles Harbor, five-star safety Joenel Aguero, and five-star tackles Francis Mauigoa and Samson Okunlola.
