Hurricanes senior receiver Phillip Dorsett was honored by the Atlantic Coast Conference on Monday for his outstanding performance against Arkansas State.
Dorsett, named the ACC Receiver of the Week, caught four passes for 201 yards and two touchdowns in Miami’s 41-20 victory Saturday over the Red Wolves.
His performance was just the third to eclipse the 200-yard receiving mark in Hurricanes football history and also marked the third most prolific yardage performance by any Miami receiver, trailing just Eddie Brown’s 220 yards (1984) and Wesley Carroll’s 208 (1990).
Dorsett is the nation’s only receiver with three catches of at least 50 yards in the same game. He also became the first ACC player with two touchdown catches of at least 60 yards in the same game since Georgia Tech’s Stephen Hill in September 2011. Both his TD catches went for 63 yards.
