Miami Hurricanes baseball team rallies to beat host North Carolina

The Miami Hurricanes baseball team scored three times in the ninth to rally for a 4-3 win over host North Carolina on Friday night at Chapel Hill, N.C.

Willie Abreu tied the score with a two-run single ahead of Johnny Ruiz’s game-winning RBI off Trent Thornton.

Korey Dunbar gave Carolina a 3-1 lead in the seventh with his third home run of the year in support of Zac Gallen, who allowed just one run in seven innings for the Tar Heels.

Cooper Hammond earned the victory in relief of starter Thomas Woodrey.

The Hurricanes improved to 19-8 overall, 7-3 in the ACC. The Tar Heels dropped to 16-9, 6-4.
