FSU Seminoles linebacker Terrance Smith to miss game against UM
Florida State coach Jimbo Fisher announced Wednesday on his radio call-in show that linebacker Terrance Smith (ankle) “most definitely will be out,” on Saturday against Miami. He also said running back Dalvin Cook (hamstring) is “making good progress. I will never count Dalvin out. Some guys heal faster, but you wait and see.”
Safety Nate Andrews is “healing really quickly” from his knee injury. Still, he is not expected to play Saturday.
▪ Former FSU All-American linebacker Marvin Jones will become the 10th football player in Seminoles history to have his number retired. The ceremony for Jones, who wore number 55, will be held at halftime of Saturday’s game. In 1992, Jones won the Butkus and Lombardi awards and finished fourth in the Heisman balloting.
