N.C. State coach Dave Doeren apologizes to FSU, Jimbo Fisher

Jimbo Fisher and N.C. State coach Dave Doeren have made nice.

A day after the two traded public barbs over Doeren’s accusation that players faked injuries in the Seminoles’ 56-41 win at N.C. State, Doeren issued an apology to Fisher and FSU.

“I have apologized to Jimbo Fisher and want to apologize to his staff, players and FSU fans for my comments that took away from a tremendous football game,” Doeren said via the team’s official Twitter account. “I left an emotional locker room and took those emotions with me to the press conference.”

Speaking after practice Tuesday, Fisher said he accepted Doeren’s apology: “We emailed each other and I wasn’t mad at him. … He’s a great guy.”
