Weekly press conference with FSU’s Jameis Winston on hiatus

Florida State coach Jimbo Fisher said Tuesday that Jameis Winton’s usual Wednesday press conference is on indefinite hiatus after an intense week of scrutiny surrounding his one-game suspension. Winston will still speak with the media after games.

“We did tweak his schedule,” Fisher said. “Part of that is to take a little load off him, let him focus on being a good student, which he does.”

▪ Seminoles defensive tackle Nile Lawrence-Stample will miss the rest of the season after tearing a pectoral muscle during Saturday’s victory over Clemson. Lawrence-Stample, a fourth-year junior from Fort Lauderdale (Nova), had nine tackles on the season. He had worked his way back into the lineup after injuring his knee in FSU’s win over The Citadel.
