Photos: Sam Burns' Longtime Wife Has Been Supporting Him For Years
Sam Burns is making a run at the U.S. Open on Sunday.
The 29-year-old former LSU Tigers star has come all the way back from several strokes down, to being with one shot of the leader, Wyndham Clark, on Sunday afternoon. Through 16 holes on Sunday, Burns is at -3. Clark, who is through 13 holes, is sitting at -4. Scottie Scheffler is right on their trail, too.
Burns, who has won five times on the PGA Tour, had his best finish at a major tournament back in 2025, when he tied for 7th place at the U.S. Open. It's safe to say that Burns will be matching or bettering that mark this weekend.
Burns is being supported on Father's Day Sunday by his longtime wife, Caroline Burns. The couple, which is openly Christian, welcomed their first child into the world in 2024.
Caroline Burns grew up in Louisiana, graduating from LSU with a bachelor's degree in marketing in 2018 and later earned a master's degree in counseling from Westminster Theological Seminary in 2020.
And while the two attended the same school, they've known each other forever.
"I was his first Valentine when we were 5 years old," she told WJCL.
"We've really known each other forever."
