German Soccer Legend Amazed by ‘Massive' Knicks Championship Parade
It was a great day for New York Knicks fans as they got a championship parade for the team’s first title in over 50 years, taking over the NYC streets to cheer for their team on floats, and to hear the star players speak on their massive win.
However, it was a rough day for others who might have been trying to do anything else in that area, including soccer legend Thomas Muller, who expressed his issues at the event.
“I wanted to go to my training session today to the soccer field. Took the bike, but I don’t know why, but I struggled a little bit,” Muller said, panning his phone camera around to show the crowd in NYC.
“The Knicks are too strong this year. Even the parade. It’s massive!” Muller said, looking around the scene with a smile.

The Knicks parade was huge, as many fans packed into the crowd to be part of it. There were also plenty of legends there, including former league MVP and champion Clyde Frazier and 10-time NBA All-Star Carmelo Anthony. However, Muller is also a legend in his own right, having played for Germany at the World Cup in 2010, 2014, 2018, and 2022.
During his first appearance, his team finished third to claim bronze, but in 2014, Muller and Germany struck gold. He scored five goals throughout that run to help his country win for the fourth time overall, and for the first time as a unified Germany.
Muller has 10 goals for his World Cup appearances, including another five in his 2010 debut. He officially retired in 2024 from playing in the international event.
The all-time German UEFA Champions League goalscorer and assist provider also spent many years playing for Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga, scoring 250 goals in over 750 appearances.
Since retiring from international play, he’s now starring for Major League Soccer’s Vancouver Whitecaps, where he’s tallied 13 goals since 2025.
His Vancouver club fell to Messi’s Inter Miami club during last year’s championship. While Muller is no longer in the World Cup, Messi is still a participant and achieved a hat trick in Argentina’s 2026 opening win, moving into a first-place tie for the all-time World Cup goals record.
