Uzbekistan vs. Colombia Player Ratings- Man of the Match Winners and Disappointments

The final game of Day 7 of the 2026 World Cup and the final game of matchweek 1 of the group stage is over, with Colombia defeating Uzbekistan at the Mexico City Stadium.

Colombia defeated Uzbekistan 3-1 in front of thousands of Colombian fans at the Mexico City Stadium. Colombia is at the top of Group K with three points and sits above Uzbekistan, DR Congo, and Portugal.

Who Scored For Colombia?

Colombia scored the opener in the 40th minute after many attempts towards the goal. Luis Diaz sent a great pass into the box, and it was volleyed by their right back, Daniel Muñoz.

The shot goes in the middle of the net, and the Uzbekistan goalkeeper, Utkir Yusupov, couldn't react in time to stop the shot from going in.

In the second half, Luis Diaz would take a shot in the box that was slightly touched by the goalkeeper, but he couldn't prevent it from going into the net.

In the last minute of the match, Colombia's Cucho Hernandez does very well to fight for the ball against Jakhongir Urozov. Hernandez wins the ball, keeps the ball from going out for a throw-in, and crosses a perfect cross to Jaminton Campaz, who heads the ball into the net.

Who Scored For Uzbekistan?

Uzbekistan made history tonight despite the loss as they scored their first-ever World Cup goal. In the 60th minute, a shot from Eldor Shomurodov is saved by Colombia goalkeeper Camilo Vargas, but the ball went over and landed perfectly for Abbosbek Fayzullayev's head.

It was the equalizer for Uzbekistan, but the moment only lasted for five minutes before Colombia's second goal of the night.

Winners and Disappointments from Uzbekistan vs Colombia

The winner of this match is the Colombian forward Luis Diaz, who provided a great assist for Muñoz in the first half and then scored the first World Cup goal of his career in the second half.

Diaz was the best player on the pitch and seems to be the most important player for the Colombian national team in this tournament.

The disappointment was Uzbekistan's attack, which scored a goal in the match, but could have pushed forward more since their few chances did alert the Colombian defense.
