Logan Webb's Future Comes Into Focus Amid Giants Trade Buzz

Logan Webb has been a consistent piece to the San Francisco Giants' starting rotation since making his debut in 2019. Since being selected in the fourth round of the 2014 MLB June Amateur Draft, he's earned two All-Star nods and one Gold Glove Award.

He has continued to perform well during the 2026 season. In 12 starts, he has accumulated 75.1 innings, 65 strikeouts, a 3.46 ERA, a 115 ERA+ and a 1.155 WHIP. His opponents are slashing .239/.296/.335 with a .631 OPS.

However, the Giants are currently 29-43, sit in fourth place in the National League West, and are 8.5 games back from a wild-card spot. San Francisco is expected to be a seller at the trade deadline, and Webb would be a hot commodity.

With a handful of intriguing trade pieces, though, they are not expected to move on from Webb. While on "Foul Territory," The Athletic's Ken Rosenthal reported that the Giants do not have plans to move on from the right-hander.

"I would never say no way to any player," Rosenthal said. "Every player is in play at all times. It's just a matter of what you can get back, but when I spoke with someone yesterday who's familiar with the Giants' plans, he said there are zero plans to trade Logan Webb."

While the Giants aren't trending toward a postseason appearance, Webb may still be a valuable piece to future contention. He is still under contract through the 2028 season as part of a five-year, $90 million contract.

San Francisco is willing to listen to trade offers for other top players such as Rafael Devers, Matt Chapman, Willy Adames, Luis Arraez and Robbie Ray, according to ESPN's Buster Olney. However, it appears Webb's services are not for sale.
