Chris Buescher Signs Multi-Year Extension with RFK Racing
Another piece of the silly season has dropped. Chris Buescher and RFK Racing have agreed to a multi-year extension to keep him in the No. 17 Ford. Buescher was rumored to be a hot commodity on the free agency market. However, RFK couldn't let him get away.
Chris Buescher is a driver who has won multiple Cup Series races. Back in 2023, he earned three wins in five races to close out the regular season. He famously outdueled Shane van Gisbergen at Watkins Glen. He's one of the most consistent and possibly underrated drivers in the garage.
RFK Racing announced the deal on Tuesday morning. Now, they just have to figure out their situation with the third charter and Ryan Preece for 2027.

This season, Chris Buescher is as consistent as ever. RFK Racing had a great start to the season, with Ryan Preece claiming the win in the Clash. However, the organization has gone winless in 2026, despite doing well in the points.
Buescher has 8 top-10 finishes through 16 races this season. He has only led 68 laps. Despite going winless in 2025, there is a lot of optimism that Buescher can still tap into whatever it was that got him wins at Michigan, Richmond, and Daytona within a matter of just a few weeks.
Even without the wins, Buescher was seen as a driver that was possibly available on the market. Now that RFK Racing has signed him to a deal and locked it in, he's not going anywhere. Will we see the 17 team back in victory lane on the heels of this extension?
