EA FC 26 Patch Notes Target Career Mode and The World's Game
As the FIFA World Cup continues to unfold, EA Sports is rolling out another update for EA Sports FC 26. Version 1.6.2 is set to arrive soon and includes a variety of improvements across The World's Game, Clubs, Career Mode, and overall game stability.
While the update touches multiple areas of the game, the biggest focus is The World's Game mode, which continues to receive support as players progress through the tournament experience.
The World's Game Receives New Features
EA Sports has added several quality-of-life improvements designed to make tournament progression easier to follow.
New Additions
- Added a Tournament Tree widget to the Office Hub once players reach the knockout stages.
- Players can now access the FC Hub directly from the Tournament Hub and during active tournaments.
- Active objectives and progression can now be tracked while participating in tournaments.
- Tournament stage information has been added to the Next Fixture screen in the FC Hub.
- Updated UI elements on the See Tree Overview screen.

Bug Fixes
- Fixed an issue where matches decided by penalties could incorrectly display aggregate scores.
- Corrected an issue where completed tournament stages were not properly displayed beneath the trophy after winning the competition.
- Fixed instances of misaligned text throughout the mode.
The additions should make it easier for players to track their tournament journey, especially during the knockout rounds where following the bracket becomes increasingly important.
Career Mode Fixes Continue
Career Mode also received a notable update with National Team selection being re-enabled for Manager Career Live Start Points that begin in May 2026.
Additional fixes include:
- International Cup Final scheduling and standings corrections.
- Scout Instruction filter fixes.
- Youth Academy report display fixes.
- Social media kit display corrections.
- Various Men's International Competition stat and image fixes.
Clubs and General Improvements
Clubs players can expect fixes for Virtual Pro creation issues and AI Facility boosts incorrectly affecting user-controlled players.
Elsewhere, EA Sports updated kits, star heads, hair, portraits, badges, stadiums, boots, commentary, crowds, TIFOs, and text. The update also addresses several stability issues, fixes Display Settings functionality, and resolves issues involving Competitive Gameplay settings and placeholder text.
With the World Cup in full swing, Version 1.6.2 continues EA Sports' effort to improve The World's Game experience while also cleaning up several long-standing issues across Career Mode and Clubs.
