What We Know About Kevin De Bruyne's Family

Kevin De Bruyne is married to Michele Lacroix De Bruyne. Michele Lacroix is a co-host of the Dutch podcast 'Secret Society', which features interviews with Belgian and Dutch celebrities and creatives.

The couple met in 2014 through X as Michele reportedly liked a tweet from De Bruyne. De Bruyne's friend messaged Michele on his behalf, and the two got along since then. In an interview with The Players' Tribune, De Bruyne explained that he didn't message her first because he was too anxious.

The couple got married in 2017 and has three children together: Mason Milian, Rome, and Suri. De Bruyn proposed to his future wife in front of the Eiffel Tower in 2016.

Kevin De Bruyne's Past Relationship

One of the biggest stories regarding Kevin De Bruyne's personal life is about his former girlfriend, Caroline Lijnen. The former couple dated for three years, but ended the relationship after it was discovered that she had an affair with his Belgian national teammate, Thibaut Courtois.

De Bruyne revealed in his autobiography that he was devastated when he found out, since he was a very close friend of Courtois. Lijnen then claimed that her affair with Courtois was in retaliation for De Bruyne having allegedly previously cheated on her with her best friend.

De Bruyne was asked if he wanted Courtois left out of the Belgian national team, but he remained professional and did not want the goalkeeper to be left out of the squad due to his quality.

De Bruyne said, "The coach came to me and said, 'If you want, I can leave Thibaut [Courtois] out of the squad.' But I didn't want that. I told him, 'He's a great goalkeeper. He deserves to stay because the team comes first.' I stayed professional on the pitch, but from that day on, I never looked at him as a friend again."
