Knicks Burst Out Singing ‘Who Let The Dogs Out' After Winning NBA Finals

Nobody embodied team chemistry better than the New York Knicks over the past two months. They were nicknamed the “Nova Knicks” for a reason.

On the court, the Knicks coalesced to the tune of a historically dominant 13-game winning streak - and winning 15 of 16 when all said and done - and the franchise’s first NBA title since 1973.

So it was only right that, after defeating the San Antonio Spurs in Game 5 at Frost Bank Center in San Antonio to win the 2026 NBA Finals on Saturday night, the Knicks harmonized during the Larry O’Brien Championship Trophy presentation.

Ernie Johnson beckoned Knicks head coach Mike Brown to the microphone, and his players started chanting, “Mike! Mike! Mike!” in the tenor of the famous “Mine! Mine! Mine!” scene from “Finding Nemo.” Then, they started barking and singing “Who Let the Dogs Out,” the even more famous 2000 Baha Men hit.

Brown took it from there, singing the song full-throated before proclaiming, “We’ve got some dogs on this team, baby! New York City is full of dogs, and we came to get it!”

Brown, a two-time NBA Coach of the Year with the Cleveland Cavaliers and Sacramento Kings, was appointed as the Knicks’ head coach last July. The Knicks had just fallen short to the Indiana Pacers in the Eastern Conference Finals and fired Tom Thibodeau.

“Mike has coached on the biggest stages in our sport and brings championship pedigree to our organization,” Knicks president Leon Rose said at the time.

Fast forward to June 13, 2026, and Knicks wing Josh Hart explained how “invaluable” Brown was to the Knicks’ championship run:

After Brown delivered the sport’s most agonizingly elusive championship to New York within his first year, he can do - and sing - whatever he wants. Watch the full trophy presentation below.
