UCF football adds verbal commitments from RB, CB, edge rusher to 2027 class

UCF football landed a trio of commitments for its 2027 recruiting class on Sunday.

Atlantic High School running back Omari St. Fort announced on social media his commitment to the Knights.

"I would like to thank my coaches and everybody who supported me with that being said I'm home," St. Fort posted on X.

The 6-foot, 180-pound Delray Beach native is a two-year varsity starter, rushing for 798 yards on 111 carries with eight touchdowns in 21 games for the Eagles, according to MaxPreps. He also had 19 catches for 124 yards and a touchdown.

St. Fort had nearly 20 offers from various schools such as UConn, USF and East Carolina before pledging to the Knights.

His commitment comes two weeks after an official visit to campus.

Knights247Sports was the first to report that Vero Beach edge rusher Dontallis Render also committed to UCF on Sunday.

The 6-4, 240-pound Render is a two-year varsity starter, totaling 29 tackles with 3.5 tackles for loss and a sack in 19 games for the Fighting Indians.

He had eight offers from schools such as Boston College, Syracuse, UConn and USF.

Render’s decision comes on the heels of his official visit this weekend.

Cornerback Jonathan Barnes, of Duncanville (Texas) High School, became the third commitment of the day for the Knights.

The 6-1, 190-pound Barnes had 28 tackles, including 3 tackles for loss, with an interception and eight passes defended in 13 games for the Panthers. His commitment came following his official visit this weekend.

St. Fort, Render and Barnes are the sixth, seventh and eighth high school prospects to verbally commit to UCF this cycle, joining edge rusher Noah Robinson, receiver Jamal Robinson Jr., tight end Tanner Ehmen, safety Kash Kolbow and receiver Kaneilius Purdy.

UCF's 2027 class currently ranks 78th according to 247Sports' composite rankings and 16th overall in the Big 12.

All verbal commitments are non-binding but can become official during the early signing period in December.
