Former Ohio State QB Terrelle Pryor Was Arrested For Drug Possession Last Month

Former Ohio State Buckeyes QB Terrelle Pryor, who went on to play QB and wide receiver in the NFL, was arrested for drug possession in Pennsylvania recently.

According to WPXI in Monroeville, Pennsylvania, Pryor has been charged with drug possession after police noticed a "baggie of a powdery substance" during a pullover. Pryor had been lying in the back seat of a car, breathing heavily, and had a rifle on the floor of the vehicle. Officers asked him to get out of the car, at which point they saw the baggie.

"According to the criminal complaint, officers pulled over a black Mercedes with tinted windows after it was speeding on Mosside Boulevard on May 24. Police noticed someone in the back seat, and asked the driver to roll down the windows," Jess Shannon of WPXI wrote.

"Police said Pryor was lying in the back seat of the car in an 'odd' manner and was breathing heavily. A rifle was seen on the floor, and officers asked Pryor to get out.

"While Pryor was pulling out his wallet to give police his concealed carry permit, police noticed a baggie of a powdery substance, suspected to be MDMA."

The Career of Terrelle Pryor

A standout at Ohio State University, Pryor played for the Ohio State Buckeyes from 2008 to 2010. He helped lead the Buckeyes to multiple Big Ten championships, a victory in the 2010 Rose Bowl, and a win in the 2011 Sugar Bowl. Pryor threw for more than 6,100 yards and 57 touchdowns while rushing for over 2,100 yards and 17 touchdowns during his college career. His time at Ohio State ended amid the "Tattoo-Gate" scandal, in which several Buckeye players, including Pryor, were found to have exchanged memorabilia for tattoos and other benefits in violation of NCAA rules.

After leaving Ohio State, Pryor entered the NFL through the 2011 Supplemental Draft, where he was selected by the Oakland Raiders. He initially played quarterback and enjoyed his best season at the position in 2013, throwing for 1,798 yards and rushing for 576 yards. That year he set what was then the NFL record for the longest quarterback run in league history with a 93-yard touchdown against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

After struggling to secure a long-term role as a quarterback, Pryor made the rare transition to wide receiver and revived his career with the Cleveland Browns in 2016. He recorded a breakout season with 77 receptions, 1,007 receiving yards, and 4 receiving touchdowns.

Pryor later played for several teams, including the Washington Commanders, New York Jets, Buffalo Bills, and Jacksonville Jaguars.
