Jalen Brunson's Tweet From 2015 Emerges Before Game 5 Of NBA Finals

The New York Knicks have felt like the team of destiny all postseason, and if you're not convinced, you have to see what Jalen Brunson posted on June 13, 2015.

Brunson has been the heart and soul of the Knicks since joining the franchise in 2022. Though he's dealt with extremely physical defense in the NBA Finals, he's averaging 29.5 points per game. His heroics were on full display in Game 4 when he led his team to the largest comeback in Finals history.

"Really wasn't that much to be said at that point," Brunson said after scoring 36 points. "It was really just we need to chip away. We need to hit singles, get on base and make plays from there."

The Knicks have a chance this Saturday, June 13, to win their first title since 1973. With that being said, Brunson posted this message 11 years ago today: "One win away."

As you'd imagine, Knicks fans are taking this old tweet as a sign that Brunson will lead them to the promised land.

"THE PROPHECY WILL BE FULFILLED," one fan commented.

"11 years ago same day is INSANE," a second fan wrote.

"It's destiny," another fan replied. "The time & date say it all."

Brunson is completely locked in.

Despite all the buzz surrounding this potential closeout game, Brunson has already told reporters that his mindset is "0-0" heading into Game 5 of the NBA Finals.

"As a team, you have to hold each other accountable. Whatever's being said, positive or negative, you can't really think about or worry about too much," Brunson said, via NBC News. "The fans are going to be the fans, but for us, we got to do our jobs."

If Brunson leads the Knicks to a championship this Saturday, his case for greatest player in franchise history will receive a huge shot in the arm.
