Dylan Harper's Dad, Ron, Rips Behavior Of Fans During NBA Finals

Ron Harper, a five-time NBA champion and the father of San Antonio Spurs star Dylan Harper, isn't pleased with the way fans are behaving during the NBA Finals.

After the New York Knicks won Game 2, the NYPD arrested 17 people from watch parties outside of Madison Square Garden. New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani revealed that a police officer was assaulted during that chaotic scene.

"The assault on an NYPD officer outside Madison Square Garden last night was unacceptable," Mayor Mamdani said. "New Yorkers are rightfully excited about the Knicks' historic Finals run, and we want fans to celebrate this moment together. There is, however, no place for violence, and no tolerance for attacks on police officers. Thank you to the officers who worked to keep fans safe throughout the night, and we wish the injured officer a speedy recovery. The overwhelming majority of New Yorkers celebrated responsibly, and I urge everyone to continue doing so as the Finals return to New York."

According to several videos shared on social media, some people wearing Spurs jerseys were attacked outside of Madison Square Garden on Monday night. This came after the Spurs defeated the Knicks in Game 3.

Harper, who won titles with the Bulls and Lakers, called out these unruly fans online.

"I've to get this off my chest FANS we do not need to fight other fans that wear different jerseys to support their teams," Harper said. "It's not only in the NBA, but all major sports and college this is sad a mob jump on kids families parents let show some respect and go cheer the teams on…"

The NBA Finals will continue this Wednesday.

The Finals will resume on Wednesday at Madison Square Garden with Game 4 between the Spurs and Knicks.

All eyes will be on the officials in Game 4, especially after they were called out by Knicks coach Mike Brown.

"I never thought I'd be in the NBA Finals and see a team get 24 free throw attempts in the second half to another team's eight," Brown said during his postgame press conference Monday.

Game 4 will begin at 8:30 p.m. ET on ABC.
