President Trump Has Predictable Reaction To Getting Booed at Game 3

President Trump responded to getting booed at Game 3 of the 2026 NBA Finals on Monday night. His response was fairly predictable.

Madison Square Garden showed President Trump on the jumbotron during the national anthem prior to tipoff at Game 3. The New York crowd booed the President of the United States pretty heavily. There were some cheers, too, of course. However, for the most part, it sounded like loud boos.

Videos of President Trump getting booed quickly went viral on social media, as Knicks fans were not very happy with his presence at the game. The Knicks lost to the Spurs, as San Antonio brought the series to 2-1, New York.

President Trump was asked by reporters about the booing as he headed back to Washington, D.C.

Unsurprisingly, he claimed that he was mostly cheered.

"I thought it was very good. It was certainly amazing. I think mostly cheers. It was loud. And it was very enthusiastic," he told reporters.

President Trump also clapped back at Stephen A. Smith

Smith had made it clear that he would be blaming President Trump if the Knicks lost in Game 3.

"If it causes the New York Knicks to lose tonight, I'm blaming him," Smith insisted. "I'm blaming the president of the United States! I'm gonna stay on that. And (expletive), I hope the GOP loses votes because of it if we lose tonight! I'm gonna be against them. All of them! I'm telling you right now. We better not lose tonight's game.

"I've been fair-minded, down the middle as an Independent for a long time. (Expletive) hath no fury like Stephen A. scorned if the New York Knicks lose tonight. I'm gonna be in their (expletive) like back pockets, like white on rice. I'm telling you that right now. We better not lose tonight's game! We were riding, we were flowing, and this man gonna show up to the Garden tonight. You gotta be kidding me!"

President Trump, meanwhile, responded on Monday night.

"I think he's a nice guy but you need a certain aptitude to run for president. You need a high IQ, I'm not sure Stephen A Smith has that," he said.

Game 4 is set for Wednesday night.
