Kendrick Perkins Makes NBA Finals Game 2 Pick Without Hesitation

The New York Knicks hold a 1-0 lead over the San Antonio Spurs after stealing Game 1 at the Frost Bank Center.

The Knicks secured a 105-95 victory on the road, finishing the series-opening contest on an 11-0 run. With this victory, New York extended its historic postseason win streak to 12 games.

While the Knicks are rolling through the 2026 playoffs, former NBA player turned analyst Kendrick Perkins believes it’s the Spurs who will come out on top with a bounce-back victory in Game 2.

“See you guys Monday for Game 3 with the series tied 1-1!!!!” Perkins wrote in a confident prediction on social media.

Superstar point guard Jalen Brunson led the way for the Knicks in Game 1, scoring a game-high 30 points on 12/31 shooting from the field. The unanimous Eastern Conference Finals MVP scored 13 of his 30 points in the fourth quarter.

The Knicks had plenty of time to rest and recover following their series sweep over the Cleveland Cavaliers. Meanwhile, the Spurs were fresh off their physically, mentally and emotionally-draining seven-game series against the reigning NBA-champion Oklahoma City Thunder.

“We’re excited for Game 2 because we know we can play so much better, and this just isn’t the game we’re used to playing,” Spurs veteran Devin Vassell said postgame.
