NBA Announces Referee Assignment for Knicks-Spurs Finals Game 2

The New York Knicks hold a 1-0 lead over the San Antonio Spurs in the 2026 NBA Finals after stealing a win on the road in Game 1.

The Knicks came out on top with a 105-95 final score at San Antonio’s Frost Bank Center on Wednesday night, finishing the game on an 11-0 run and extending their historic postseason win streak to 12 games.

Now, the Knicks and Spurs are gearing up for a crucial Game 2 clash on Friday night.

The NBA announced its referee assignments for the Game 2 matchup. Tony Brothers will serve as the crew chief, leading referee Josh Tiven and umpire Tyler Ford. The NBA Replay official is Sean Wright, and Mitchell Ervin will serve as the first alternate.

The referee crew for Game 1 featured crew chief Scott Foster, referee James Capers and umpire Sean Wright.

The Spurs desperately need a bounce-back win in Game 2. If the Knicks are able to steal another game at San Antonio’s Frost Bank Center, Victor Wembanyama and his squad will take an 0-2 deficit into a hostile Madison Square Garden environment for Game 3 and Game 4.

Wembanyama recorded 26 points and 12 rebounds in Game 1, but he struggled mightily from the field. 12 of his 26 points came from 13 attempts at the free-throw line.

Game 2 of the NBA Finals will tipoff at 8:30 p.m. ET on Friday.
